No one was there
No one was there; No one was there to take my picture Early morning 1976; Yes June 16 Fighting for freedom KIDS getting shot by the POLICE I was the first kid to get shot I cried before I left this earth; By the sight of my brains next to me I die for what I believe in; I’m happy; my soul shall rest in peace I fought for people who are now 30 years old, more or less I am 15 years old; 12 year old HECTOR PETERSON’S body is carried in; My God, even younger than I am We walked hand in hand to the gates of heaven He is the symbol of June 16 1976 Congratulations NTANGA, I say THEN, NOW, FOREVER I am among the fallen heroes that are not known Every year June 16 Hector gets his thanks I did not struggle for thanks; I know I’m appreciated I would just be nice to hear it, JUST ONCE My name is HASTING NDLOVU and 1976; June 16 was also my day It’s just that no one was there; to take my picture. © 2005, Lazola Belle
