Not What I Expected
It’s been over a year Since I last saw you And seeing you again last night Made my wishes come true Talking to you Was way more interesting than skating And in my mind I considered you and me dating Because darling you have Such a beautiful face And the moments that I spend with you Are the moments that I love to waste I skated around The entire rink with you I offered to hold your hand you said no But I know you weren’t trying to be rude Then I saw you Holding hands with another guy With a broad grin across your face And I said to myself Lord why? It brought a tear to my eye It breaks my heart Why would you do that to me? I was flirting with you But I guess you were just too blind to see I saw you on opposite sides of the rink Making out with another guy And it just hurts me to think I can’t even explain How much I was hurt But you sort of get used to it When you are constantly treated like dirt And my friends wonder why I don’t like to flirt I believe that she did that intentionally I had a feeling that it would happen eventually But all it does is bring back Memories from the past I guess it really is true That nice guys finish last By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
