Now that Winter's Here - A Sonnet
Oh ‘tis winter! Winter harsh and bleak, I struggle now through bitter wind and rain; So stressed am I - ’tis peace and love I seek, My life so grim, so cruel – for ever in pain. Oh ‘tis winter! Death and hate are rife, Along the gruesome lane of fate I tread; Distraught and scared I’ve been – ’tis times of strife! Carefree, happy once - what lies ahead? Oh ‘tis winter! Now ‘tis Brexit too! A world no longer safe - a thought that chills; Hunger, Covid, drought - can more accrue? What life have we, beset by worldly ills? Oh ’tis winter of my life - where now, I scream? Sit back, relax and listen to the rooks and dream….. A bit of a contrast to the last poem on the subject of plums.....

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
