Ocean Revelations
I ran into the Ocean today. She told me to tell you hello. While I was there conversing with her, In her, She reminded me how small I was. Not that she was saying that I am insignificant. No, she was telling me how I am small, and all of the Earth's children are small, barely a speck of dust in the grand scheme. Less than a grain of sand on any beach, And yet we are important, she said. Because without you my life would be different, without me, so would yours. Without us, the whole grand scheme would take a completely different path. We make small differences, but they are significant no matter how small we are. Because what would I be without you? The Ocean told me to think of it this way: "Without the sky, the Sea wouldn't be blue, and without the sea, the sky would have nothing to meet on the horizon." Though I am small, the Ocean reassures me that all of us need each other, everyone of us has a purpose. As I stood in her waters, Tears of joyous exaltation streaming down my face, The Ocean caressed me with her gentle push and pull. I washed my hair with sea foam As the ocean whispered and roared Reassuring me that my pain will end. Everything is temporary, Both the good and the bad. She said not to try and hold on to the things I find joy in. She told me to let them swirl around me, and wash over me, But to let go when the tide goes out, Lest I be swept away. There I stood in the Ocean's cool embrace and she bathed me. She purified me, And opened my eyes. Now as I look at the horizon, I feel her in my soul. I am her, and she is me. I am stretching out to touch the horizon, Swelling and rolling into the blue infinity, And yet I stand still on the coast, covered to my waist in water. I ran into the Ocean today. She told me to tell you hello.
