Ode to Alyan
The wavelets gently wash across the sand, And break upon the beach. A fleeting sun-touched spray, a momentary halo, A scene so peaceful and calm. For what is peace in life - but life no more? Peace in death for all? Face down in the sea a tiny body lies, His T-shirt ruffled by the waves. What horror has cut his youthful life so short? What horror he endured? Fleeing the evil actions of butchers of hate, And subject to smugglers of death. With mother and brother drowned so close to freedom. His father, distraught, bereaved; Weep! Weep! Oh world for what you’ve done, To these and countless others. The wavelets gently wash across the sand, A scene so peaceful and calm; But peace for whom in a world of hate and butchery? Peace for a child so young?

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
