Off With The Fairies
Inspired by Eon's original poem ''Aging and Forgetfulness'' I'm old and I'm potty And I'm more than a little bit dottery And I can't even say what I did today .......Much less yesterday I go to the mall can't find my car I don't see it anywhere near or far My eyeglasses are lost ag'in In my pocket, or atop me ol' noggin I walk to the fridge to get a drink On the way there I stop'n I think Why did I walk from here to there Dang it; my mind wanders everywhere I search for my keys where I last set 'em down It's an emergency so we all look around But I'd left 'em in the door the day before, so they never were far away And I shrug and I say; Obviously I was off with the fairies that day Now I know this all makes me look a bit of a goose So my offered excuse when things start gettin' loose Is to smile and just say ''Obviously I was off with the fairies that day''
