Oh Beautiful Dreamer...

- This poem was written for, and is dedicated to one of my friends... Its not about you, or what has happened to you. Its a tribute to you, for being the person you are today despite the turmoil you have had to endure... =] - Sleep, dear child, rest your precious head Gently laid down, on your earthen bed Painfully you came and now to sleep you depart The pain we all know, you tired form a broken heart Wearily you walked, you trudged, and now finally you rest Your true love forgotten, but at least you did your best Even so let us not mourn, not even one last cry For this, a mere nothing, but a momentary good-bye Sweet dreams our little angel, may you now rest in peace For life's violence, your life's turmoil, never will it truly cease It will break you, beat you, hurt you, no mercy will it spare It'll slowly drain you of hope, with its harsh and foreful care The short silent prayers, of those you dearly loved They couldn't save you though they tried, it just wasn't enough So now here you lie, on earth's soft decay Yet even this is not enough, to keep your nightmares away Sleep darling, sleep, for who would want to wake When life's just there, waiting, willing and ready to take Oh how I wish, that this slumber would overtake me too So that in my eternal dreams, I might encounter you Your cheeks so pale, so soft, yet totally unaware Of how your numbed body, now motionless, lies there Amidst the dust you lie, you wait for then, for when... But alas, oh beautiful dreamer, never shall you wake again...
