OLD FRIENDS ARE SPECIAL

OLD FRIENDS * Old friends are special in every way They say they knew you when And if by chance, you get down and out They'll be there for you again * If you are gone and move away They never do forget you And when you see them next It's as if they never left you. * They're there for you through thick and thin Through good times and through bad They like you because of who you are And not for what you have * If you loose your home and job They comfort you when your blue they always have some time for you Even though their plate is full * Old friends know that sometimes Even though their times are good That there but for the grace of God they might have been there too! * They remember things about you that new friends could never know Because they watched you evolve In to the person you are now. * Though we may take them for granted And think they will always be there It's when they are gone forever We will wish they were still here. * WordPlaya, October 18, 2009
