Ole Blue Eyes I was thinking that I was over and done With butterflies dancing inside my tum Too long in the tooth, I had done it all Got over romance - that first enthral But here I am now, with a fluttery heart The thrilling tingle you get at the start Those butterfly wings flapping beautifully bright In the sun or the rain or the middle of night Now, once again, someone’s breaching the wall Finding me special, not jaded at all Blue eyes to match mine, look into my soul Two of us moving in step to one goal Yet there is a sense we’ll be careful this time Less expectation for something sublime Just you and I dear, hand in hand for a stroll Bruised hearts recovering what others once stole There is a chance with our laughter and fun We two will finally end up as one And wouldn’t that be something? This much is true ~ Ole Blue Eyes I’m lucky fate chose me for you.
