On My Heart's Skin
I return with my heart in borrowed arms. I find strength in the midst of secret dreams. I make love to evenings that will never be prophetic. I would like to see the reflection of my thoughts in your soul, I long to feel the unfinished touch on my heart's skin. Paint my personal sky white, notice the remnants of tears under too heavy eyelids. I will not let this year's dawn turn to dust, let the excessive silence cease to be associated with loneliness. I make friends with a bygone future, with time mismatched to your bottomless hands, to your tired lips. I refuse to let the moonlight take away my last wisp of shadow. I have fallen in love with your lemon breath, I have given my life to the stars so that the silence belongs to me too.
