On that October evening in Cologne
On that October evening in Cologne I glimpsed something mysterious As I stood upon that bridge, The cold wet mist bearing down upon the world as the eye could see. But bearing down in a strangely comforting way, Allowing me a glimpse of a peaceful skyline; A skyline semi-lit as if to entice exploration As it glistened in the dying light. I felt drawn magically into an old film, A black and white romantic tragedy Where two lovers exchange a true love goodbye On a misty autumn eve upon that bridge.
