On the Right Track

So i never got around to coming up with a title ;( I wrote this a while back, but thought i would post it as my second poem on this site...let me know what you think... :D Like i've said, i would love for my poems to be torn to shreds, and completely obliterated. I will NOT take ANY offense to what ANYONE says, so say all that you want. I won't look down, I won't look back Im here right now, I'm on the right track. Through it all i've made it once more i'll spread my wings im ready to soar. you're out of my life, i'm sorry to say But the choices are mine, and i'll be okay. It wasn't my fault you hit me that night I didn't back down, i was ready to fight. By never giving in and standing my ground An angel came in and turned it around. "Don't worry" it spoke, "you're safe with me." "No longer a hostage, you're wild and free." The life I had was filled with abuse But never did i use this as an excuse. It kills me to know that you'll never agree But i've become the person i wanted to be. I continued on, holding my head high Never looking back, never saying goodbye. That's the part i'll never forget The one thing i really, truely regret. It's been five years since those horrible days A fork in the road, we've parted our ways. I'll never forgive what you put me through But i still care why, believe me, i do.
