Open Road
My heart begins to beat a bit faster as I buckle myself in The road had called upon me, pleading for my memories as a keepsake The cracks between the pavement begin to sing a rhythmic tune One that I have heard a hundred times before, One that feels new still The smell of Lilac Bushes consumes my senses and I become the bush I see the mountains, majestic, and yet empty without it's valleys to contrast it's wonder. The Canyons painted a color of Mars as if to say, "There is nothing here for you" But they lie, there is something....only for you My Church is a 2 lane road with twist and turns abundant, my prophets, street signs showing me the way. Lead me to Valhalla, for there is no turning back to to my starting space.
