I've been told my poems are a bit long so I decided to write 2 poems on the same concept,a longer version and a shorter 1. the battle is for the Title, so let me know which one you think I should delete from this page. 1. ORAL TRADITION They say a good speaker is a good listener So the wisest man must be an interpreter We interpret this wisdom inherited from ancestors The art of story telling has no parameters Nouns, verbs and their pros painting pictures Lines we say are measured in scriptures In between is the tales of the wise ones and their teachers Word of thought, word of mouth from the old preachers Stories passed down from generation to generation Religion to religion Ism and ism Wisdom orgasm Vocabulary prison Doing life coz I see a reason Oral traditionalism Play with words, ideas & conceptualise themes Pens that bleed, composing hymns With the hope to organise dreams Of the light that beams A brighter future Born and bred of literature It’s this matter of culture Got me on this rapture Pushing me to cease this opportunity Level of divinity Inspires the creativity Label it POETRY Letters that spell love and passion Will and devotion Oral tradition Mouth of the nation Or portrays the impression Fit the description So hail the notion 2. ORAL TRADITION We awaken into another season Hearts beating on the same rhythm Walking the path of reason Talking divine leaving Forget the face Dreams we chase Gods we praise Passions we embrace Now we take on a new pledge Flip the page Mirror the image Reflect this word of change Pledge my liege to the metaphor Oral is the tradition I stand for
