Our Times

dare I say I wanted you in spite of all the warning nudges along the way and glaring signs we chose to ignore I was blind. our memories still follow me hauntingly, teasing bits of naughtiness lingering glimpses of what we once knew and held so close gone and left with that distant day when love was young and we were fools, fools who stood at the door of ever after, knowing it would open wide believing all we had to do was stand there, nothing more and when it closed, we stared tongue-tied for a day or so, or maybe it was years until we turned away silent, never to speak of this with anyone and now we walk the dusty road scattered with nothing but inconsistent memories, on a good day shadows of the greatest times the worst times, but they were our times gone, forevermore...
