Painted Smile

Again, I lie here, deep in sorrow Longing for a different kind of tomorrow Endlessly tortured by memories That seem like they will never leave I paint a smile on my sad face But all happiness is gone without a trace Who could love this broken man now? I'm eternally damaged from the inside out It seems that this should be done by now But I'm wrapped so tightly in a shroud Of the days when I saw your beautiful smile If only I could see it again for awhile But I might as well move on from this For it is another man's lips that you kiss From my eyes the tears endlessly pour I cannot take this loneliness anymore
