Papa Bear
Our lights crossed, as our lives did Your face a scrunched up mess You have my nose, my knickknack toes Cautious eyes opening too soon Toothless smile as bright as the moon My heart became yours instantly Jumping, pounding relentlessly With heaven,s breath upon me Holding you so delicately A father’s promised made. To love, protect and educate. A few years passed since then My love still flows, like ink from writer’s pen Pitter-patter footsteps coming down the hallway Daddy where are you? Is what I hear you say. Sorry, but I have to go, get up from this chair My princess is looking for her papa bear…..
