Pedestal Cracks
PEDESTAL CRACKS What do I say not already said? She’s Venus in my eyes, and Medusa in my head. What do I feel not already felt? She’s a mothers caring arms, and a father’s flailing belt. What do I touch not already touched. She’s the joy within me freed, and rage within me clutched. What do I hear not already heard? She’s a whisper in my ear, and the screams of the absurd. What do I think not already thought? She’s a question of the heart, and a daily battle fought. What do I try not already tried? She’s the endlessness of love, and the limits of my pride. What do I lose not already lost? She’s the warmth within my loins, and my heart bathing in frost. What do I pray not already prayed? She’s an angel who has gone, and a demon who has stayed. arsnydermediocrepoet.com
