Permanent Decision - January 2000

Wanting something so bad for the rest of your life To share with a special someone Hard work all the time with no days off The urge is there and the will, strong Could it possibly be time, natures call? Are we ready to make a permanent decision? Think about it every day and every night ‘fore bed Want to share the most extraordinary gift with you A gift nobody else has ever given you To keep a sacred bond between us To bind us together for the rest of our lives Is it foolish to make such a permanent decision? To love someone with all my heart To spend my life with only them Then time stands still while life goes on We’re in a rut again, we can’t get out again The constant stress and pain, inevitable sadness Should we put off our permanent decision? If we could just control our moods, the fury The gaping tracks that swallow us all too often I know we have enough love to give to the possibility To hold and keep something so precious among us To nourish it, love and care for it, teach it right from wrong Only then would we be ready for a permanent decision
