POEM FOR MY HUSBAND (on Valentines Day) * You and me will always be You finish my sentences before I speak I look at you at the breakfast table through tired worn eyes and I wonder… Wonder if when you look at me, do you see the love that I know I feel? As the whole world rages around us tight you shut that door and turn off the light Your touch it soothes me strong and mighty Your lips a refuge from the hell of humanity Love speaks to me from your soothing voice Love comforts me when all is lost I wear your t-shirts to bed at night You wear my reading glasses to improve your sight We share each other in every way While we make it through another day You compliment me and love me Till I’m weak kneed And you finish my sentences before I speak. * WordPlaya, February 14, 2010
