On a Friday night a single man Decided to attend a night club He had just gotten divorced so he was In search of that new spark of love The loneliness was killing him To the point that it was unbearable He didn’t want this to go on forever Just the thought of it made him feel terrible As he was driving to the club he rolled down the windows And blasted the music really loud Like he was a DJ on turntables Entertaining a sold out crowd He finally arrived at a club By the name of Insomnia And from outside of the club He could hear the base pumping up So he got out of his car And he waited in line Paid for his admission so that He could have a good time He had a few drinks Danced a little bit Sat down for a while got up The jackpot he was ready to hit So he went back up to the bar To talk to a girl Offered to buy her a drink and decided To take a detour into her world Because all night long he kept spotting her Out of the corner of his eye His reasoning for this Only God knows why Out of nowhere with great pride He started spitting his game And pretty soon after They were exchanging names His name was Blake Her name was Lizzy And by the end of the night They were gonna get busy But in the meantime they returned To the floor and started to dance For this was the start of A new passionate, lustful romance By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
