Political Speech

The following poem is my first as a member of this forum. I have been writing on another forum that i won't name, but decided to leave on account of the moderator's free will - taking my poems and moving them to a seperate genre, despite other poets leaving comments on how they fitted perfectly with the genre chosen in the first place. It seemed to me that the moderator glanced over the work, made a brash judgement and then ruthlessly dissolved the point. Those poems can remain where they are, safely hanging from the gallows of miscarriage.I should say that i am slightly embarrassed at providing you with such doggerel as my entry poem into this forum, but it takes a swipe, in an obvious way, at people who are all front and no depth. Like politicians and rouge poetry forum moderators. Anyway...Political SpeechListen to thisI have something to sayAbout words that are spokenAloud in a wayThat will capture attentionAnd open up earsWords louder than actionsThat everyone hearsThe grammar, linguisticsThe motion of lipsThe changing of toneIntermittent quipsExtravagant confidentHands used as an aidTo push out emotionsTo help words persuadeSpat dribble drabbleAnd nods from the crowdThe listening gatheredSupporters and proudThe hanging reporters On verbal points madeThe flashing of camerasNewspapers have paidA standing ovation For using the tongueTo brainwash these peopleWith fresh oral dung
