Princess Pan

We play "how to stay quiet the longest" and you lose by an absolute mile. Mum's reached the end of her temper, and I catch your mischievous smile. Feeding my mind with stories of the spirit horse and the school friends and lost boys. We jump from world to world, turning dust specs to glitter and building families from toys. The sky transforms into a blanket of purple clouds smelling of the cold now, but no sleep time allowed. Dancing in the muddy grass now quicksand we reach the other side. Feet soaked in winter rain face flushed red with inner pride. Energy drains from all limbs in exhaustion as neverland is safe once more. Soon this will all be too distant a memory as modern life urges you to close the door. I catch your glances in the mirror pining for the look of the grown up clones. A sudden moment brings distraction to the fantasy remembering the addiction to the camera on the phone. Soon there is no time for adventures and the spirit horse will run on by. The mischievous smiles at play replaced by sarcastic sighs. So draw swords for now, princess pan, wake us up with your gifted mind. Throw your fairy dust around this broken globe and remind us of the childhood left behind.

I love music, writing and any kind of creative outlet. It reminds us we're not alone in what we're feeling and what we see. For too long I've suppressed creativity in favour of a stable job. I'm bored now and need this.
