Prisoner's Plea

I'm only an ignorant sinner, Lord. I do not know Your plan. I'm asking You for guidance Lord, so I might understand. Lord, I've touched the heights and depths that humanity can reach. The agony and the ecstasy, I've tasted sips of each. Order and chaos, love and hate have warred since time began. To be caught in the middle is the eternal fate of man. Good and evil ever struggle, interwoven, side by side and each of us must one day choose with which side we'll abide. The road to hell's alluring and easy to attain but the glamor's mere illusion Its rewards are fleeting gain. Though the path to heaven's narrow, often rocky, rough and cold the goal attained at journey's end is more marvelous than gold. Grave decisions must be made each time the path divides and every time we choose a way, the decision must be right. Satan's agents prowl the shoulders promising each his heart's desires to lure the weak and foolish into hell's eternal fires. But God's loving mercy's boundless, and even those who die in sin aren't doomed to hell forever without a chance to win a place within His hallowed hall a final chance at grace, though in purgatory they must reside until they've earned their place. And Lord, I've learned the lesson; there are heavens and hells on earth each of us creates his own and the results proclaim our worth. Those who lust for evil, build with lies and greed and crime on foundations made of quicksand which can sink at any time. But the righteous build with honor using love and liberty on a solid base of justice shored up by human dignity. I started building honorably but impatience led to sin. Now I find myself entombed in purgatory's earthly twin. If it be your will I suffer Lord, then here I will remain until I stand before Your throne cleansed and free of stain. Now Lord, I kneel before You both humble and contrite and repent me of my sins and beg You send me light. Please mark the plea within my heart as You mark each time a sparrow falls and deliver me safe and sound and whole, from behind these prison walls.
