Purple Dayze
We listened to the zombies We went tripping with the dead And the politics of ecstasy Were playing in our head We were dust upon the wind We were drops of acid rain That fell in strawberry fields And ran down penny lane Lucy glittered in the sky Major tom was lost in space The voodoo child magician Went and left an empty place We surfed with castaneda On the waves of mescaline We worshipped our messiah The infectious doctor tim On the dark side of the moon We had a great gig in the sky We climbed the stair to heaven Where a zeppelin flew by We passed around a peace pipe With good old mary jane We went chasing after rabbits On a horse that had no name Yes we all put on some cream With two axe men and a baker Ronnie sang like a free bird And poor janis met her maker The front door fell to pieces After riding on the storm And jesus christ the superstar Onto the stage was born The heat went up the country With a blind owl and a bear And the dawning of aquarius Turned dark in deep despair Questions answered questions As the seeds of doubt were sown But we couldn’t find the answers In the chill wind that had blown When the zebra crossed the road The four kings were all but done While tommy smashed a mirror Rotten johnny spoiled the fun When mercury was orbiting We started to lose our grip In the purple dayze of sound We had rocked and let it rip
