Queen's Throne
A tree sits alone in the depths of my mind, the surrounding picture fades into fog. Yet I remember that day so very clearly, and I could never forget your absinthe bite. You lunged cruel words like an avalanche of torrential rain on a sweet summer's day. I lost something on that thickening evening; I lost the innocence of seeing gold in empty mines. You rested proudly on your branch of superiority, whilst I crouched way below. Why I sought your validation I did not know, yet I did, again and again... We were so young and you were so headstrong, a real natural born leader, and me a people pleaser. Leave then! You said as I walked away. Forgive me, your majesty, sat on your throne.

I have always loved writing songs but never had much experience with poems, so here I am. I'm open to learning as much as I can so feel free to criticise :)
