Raindrops

As each raindrop begins its suicidal journey towards the earth another takes its place in the sky.The clouds set them free and willingly they fall, their destiny written long before they were formed. They plummet through the atmosphere, past buildings, past leaves on trees, occasionally dying before their time. The ultimate goal is in sight; soon they will join their maker. It beckons to them, longing for cool refreshment. Gracefully they fall in anticipation, and then their journey is ended. They darken the stone with their rich blood, falling in their thousands.
