These eyes, what are they looking for, Fresh blood from a heart born anew, Pumping through veins as musical notes, The elegy I finally sing for you. The well of tears dried now to ash Burned by the fuel of vengeance and rage, Dreams once carried your face to me Now wiped clean to an empty page. But even the devil is drawn to purity With the hint of another promise gained, Of your name stricken from my heart, And your face inside me finally waned. You are gone, and I've overcome That pit of despair you dumped me in, I rise to float on new visions of hope And once again love myself within.
