Red Rose

/* I was inspired (ha ha) my Shakespeare, but my teacher hated this. I hope you guys don't feel the same. Aug 23, 1992 */ Oh, if love were but so simple- A butterfly’s flight so free. No, but love toss mine heart – A storm out at sea. But for love’s soft caresses, - A rose bud comes to be. And if love be a gift, - The gift bearer then be thee. If thou givest then thou shalt receive, The gift of mine heart. Red rose bud grows and now begins, It’s delicate leaves to part. And ifthou tackest out of greed, Red rose blood mine heart shalt bleed. A fine rose plucked shall surely die. That rose upon mine breast shall lie. And lie arms crossed, and lie so still The angels shall take – By THY will. Then send your choice, But not a rose. Thy rose is dead, That thou hath chose.
