Regret

Many people have a story about how they were hurt by an ex-lover. We hear about the long nights spent in sleepless sorrow and the feeling of worthlessness attached to losing someone that you've invested so much of your life in. But do we ever hear the story of the person who caused that pain. Many of us have caused others to feel that exact same pain aswell. I have written a poem of apology, on behalf of all those who have been the bestowers of pain, to all those who have had to experience it: I call it REGRET. Its time to say what I wanna say And I hope I don't pay one day for what I am about to say today, But my insecurities were nothing but impurities And these are things I should've sorted out Before I let you put your head on my chest Or put my hand on breast My time with you was the best But it was put to the test I loved you once (and still do) But its true... ...I lost you to another man I understand your love for me Was shattered by impurity I'm sorry for the hurry into things we shouldn't've worry about But now I've figured it out without a doubt in my mind I'm inclined to find a way to define the kind of love I had for you but it was never a lie... ...I've lied and lied and lied many times about things that ultimately left a crack in my mind but getting straight to the point I never meant to disappoint you but I really thought that me and you where gonna make it through but due to this unhappiness It made you love me less and less the mess just caused us more distress I tried surpressing all the death That ate away at my humanity Surprisingly although you left me suddenly you actually looked out for me by giving me my dignity back quickly before I lost my sanity accordingly I owe you an apology I hope you will forgive me we've now litterally been friends for all eternity and hopefully these words will make you understand I think about you... ...Daily.
