Remembrance

·Zairith

As I sit here my mind fills with remembrance. Being told to sit down, shut up, and look away. While she got beaten to the brink of her life. My memory has been gone for so long. I see myself as a child, Watching the deals be made. When he saw me I ran to the closet, The only safe place. I remember hearing the screams, When he took it out on her. As the fog fades away, I remember everything. As he held me, and held me tight, He whispered lies into my mind. My hatred comes back alive, So that my soul can survive. My memories finally ebb away, Putting the present world back in sight. I'm back, and enraged, But my fear still stays deep inside. I fight past demons, Everyday I'm alive. No one knows, But I will survive.
