Renaissance Man

Once a broken man that had nothing to his name Except an empty wallet and a raw game Filled with fire and shame. I would walk the sidewalks brushing past everyone who seemed pretty tamed But behind their crooked smiles, exhumed nothing but distaste and mistrust And in judgement, they couldn't call me by my name A nickel of time since then With all presumed that I'm dead, I emerge from my isolated tomb like brand spanking new with a clear path in mind to play my independence loose and cool, And shave off a little more attitude Call it what you will Label me a fluke but you can't deny what's ahead for me It's a warm revival of life, To learn, laugh, love and live Something I couldn't contemplate before Not even by the end. I was tool, a straight up fool back when But now, welcome to my school of life Where you can find me breathing in new life Reading and refining everything old and new so watch me walk the streets knowing without much effort There's no shame now when they call me by my name Nothing can stop me now so come to hell or high water or hell to high noon I'm gonna succeed in every capacity It's in the nature of a renaissance man Its just what I do
