have you seen the springtime? 
i want you to remember it 
in case you should get angry 
see the dandy-lions flying 
slowly down 
but sometimes they go 
even higher up into the sky 
blue and puffs of white 
waiting like open arms 
open to fly 
 
oh, springtime 
how you come to life 
after such a long wait in darkness 
you stir the cold and frozen earth 
once more 
 
i come closer 
i see how it starts 
moving with the crawling 
of worms and noises 
as the humus thaws 
it becomes wet 
it comes to life 
 
and once again 
we find spring out there 
best kept close at heart 
for the alternative is 
a flashing war within
