Riptide
Pebbles crunch underfoot as the solidity figure begins his descent, A small smile flits across his face as the jubilations of a young boy reach his ears, Images of youth break his stoic gaze, flashback to hot summer, dancing in the sand. Now a harsh breeze sends him onwards, stumbling to choppy grey. A dark silhouette gazing in to the great beyond she stands away from him, Winds whip chestnut curls as saltwater scores her face, constricted in grief. Nothing can be said, hand in gloved hand, they watch the sun being sucked below the planet. As the last tendrils of pink kiss the twilight, the couple turns to one shadow, engulfed by the black.
