Room 708 (part 2)
The Front Desk phone rang and the clerk deftly answered without refraining from typing the Wilhelm's information. It was room 708 again... no-one on the other end, just an open line. "When will they get that fixed" the clerk thought to herself and hung up the phone. A blast of cold air rushed in as the guest services agent stepped outside to have a quick smoke. This interrupted Rachel's fantasy and she was not happy. Rachel was about to join her parents at the desk when she thought she heard a very light whisper from just around the corner. Could it have been her name she heard? "No, it was just the wind" she convinced herself and turned again towards the desk. 'Rachel'...this time it was clear and coming from the elevator lobby. She hesitated, then slowly walked towards the sound of her name. Mr and Mrs Wilhelm finished checking in and about that time the guest services agent, smelling of Camel Lights, approached to assist with their luggage. Mrs Wilhelm, who had spotted Rachel sitting in the chair just a few moments earlier, was a bit surprised to see that she was no longer seated. "Rachel, come along now." Surely she was around the corner waiting, or playing hide-and-seek. But Rachel was not in the Great Room.
