Santa's Game
Shopping includes a coffee break Last week that was the same 'Till a ring of bells downstairs Made me forget that game. I'd just followed the sound of bells And silent with surprise I'd happened on Santa and his sleigh Unloading his supplies A closer look at Santa Saw a red and runny nose Kind but worried Santa eyes That I just had to know I had to introduce myself And then I had to say "Heard before I saw you Unloading your big sleigh "Well, dear, I get no younger No older, but it's come The use of big and little stores For kids to have some fun." "These are all the toys I've made In Lapland with the Elves I deliver to stores like this who put them on their shelves." "Under cover of darkness I deliver all the year So all the stores get presents For Christmas and New Year." "What's it cost me? Nothing But there's a price to pay Kids parents pay a retail price To take their presents away." "The children still expect me And so we do a run Over roofs and through the air Until the morning sun"
