Satan's Samurai
The Devil’s mighty army stretched Across the midnight sky On a multitude of snorting beasts Were Satan’s Samurai Of the Angel Host from Heaven There was nary one in sight Demonicus reigned in his steed And peered into the night ‘So high and mighty Celexequoste Dare not show his Angel face I trust that history shall relate This cowardly disgrace Now we can invade God’s domain And not even have to fight’ But then appeared a brilliant flash Of effervescent light A million shooting stars, spinning Close to cosmic speed Then from the centre of the vortex Came a mighty dragon steed On board the dragon steed, Midst a blaze of golden light The Angel Celexequoste stood tall, Shimmering in white He confronted the vile Demonicus Looking straight into his eyes ‘Do you think to leave the safety Of Hell’s Star is very wise? ‘You come alone to face my troops? Demonicus replied ‘I will never be alone you fool, God is always at my side’ ‘We shall find out who is the fool Before too long, my friend’ ‘I ’ll be no friend of yours, whilst On Satan you depend’ ‘The Dark Lord treats me very well, You’ve no chance against my force Surrender to me now and we’ll see History run it’s course’ ‘Perhaps I will permit my dragon steed To choose our fate What do you say Exsratignor, Should we capitulate?’ Exsratignor threw back his head, Flexed his mighty wings From his mouth came bolts of fire The length of Saturn’s rings I think that must count as a ‘No’, The Angel told Hell’s emissary I think your men may be not so keen To attack God’s territory ‘Your steed may produce a mighty flame I will surely give you that But don’t forget that Hell’s own fire Is our natural habitat’ ‘Go do your worst’ the Angel said ‘I’ve no time to chat all day’ And in a flurry of glittering starlight He reigned his steed away Demonicus stared after him His rage was burning fierce ‘He'll not be feeling so happy when His defences have been pierced’ All of Satan’s Samurai were gathered Close to God’s domain Five thousand men they did number Then five thousand again The Host of Angels were facing them, Golden light around them glowed They numbered just one hundred, And yet no fear they showed Demonicus sneered, ‘A hundred to one And they’re not even armed’! But the calmness of his adversaries Left him quite alarmed The small Host of Angels, they were led By Celexequoste on Exsratignor ‘Demonicus!’ the Angel cried, ‘What are you waiting for?’ A backwards glance at his soldiers Did Demonicus inspire He raised his arm to give command For the Samurai to fire Ten thousand bolts of white hot fire Shot forth with an evil shriek Their path was straight and true, The Hosts defence looked very weak A thin curtain of translucent ice Descended from the night The Samurai laughed to see such poor Defence against their might But though the mighty Samurai At the Angel Host did aim The curtain of ice returned the bolts Back the way they came Demonicus stared in disbelief, His countenance was sour His Samurai were under attack from Their very own firepower ‘Retreat! Retreat, right now you fools!’ Of defence we have no means!’ But all too late, for Satan’s Samurai Were blown to smithereens
