Saturday at Zoo Lake
The gentle breeze greets me, With a delicate brush through my hair, And the faint afternoon sun Lightly kisses my skin. The park bursts with life, As people stroll For afternoon walks, And dogs gleefully Glide across the grass. Ducks sail over The frivolously rippled waters, And birds drift from branch to branch, of the trees that hold the wisdom of the earth. Fluttering in the slight wind They try to read the leaves, The veins of which Map out the places Where sacredness is found.
