Say Goodbye
Empty words; between us pass Smiles and laughter; tears and sorrow A love so deep To last the morrow But you won't look me in the eye. And how I want to catch your glance To see you there, to give it a chance But no dare from you to try Your soul is open for no one to pry. A friendship, like a river; flows away Please come by, just another day. I seek your hand, your shoulder, embrace Why won't you look me in the face? Apology for my words, my friend Days from the past, to me; lend When all between was true affection And this time will have no mention. Goodbye, like to a bird into the horizon I'll blow a kiss and wipe a tear As you don't see me here. Smaller and smaller; you're almost gone, You've made a requiem of this song. Say it's arrogance, say it's pride For the melody lodges in my throat And I suppress the sweetness of every note; Fueling, this; your ever roaring tide And strange; you're here, by my side. You make a shelter of the wall between Yet all your tears; I have seen. Still in your eyes; I see that bird Flying away with every, empty word.
