Seeking salvation
When I walk this lonely road, I have but nothing on. My soul bears the cold, At the horizon, as I look on. The sun seems so mesmerizing, As it meets the land, somewhere. Through the loneliness of being, I once dreamt of being there. This nakedness somehow, Makes the triumphs seem so low. This skin may shine today, But I know, it’s decaying below. The hollowness within, Is creeping like a disease. And with all in the world, I still am not at ease! Why is happiness so elusive, I think to myself. Why is the mind so restless, With such laurels on my shelf? The nakedness of the soul, Fills my heart with remorse. I seek salvation, As I seek a divine discourse.
