Serenity for the Soul
The day's sun sets on this balmy Summer's eve, A canvas with brush-strokes of fiery red. A vision guaranteed to make shepherds smile. A good weather sign for the day ahead. Birds fly together in this playground of fire, One last dance before the onset of night. Heading en masse for the hazy horizon, Wings waving adieu to the receding light. The moon now the master, governing the sky Stopping the darkness from spreading it's shroud. A blanket of sequins it's constant ally, Playing Hide and Seek with the passing clouds. Down on the ground the populace amble Oblivious to this nocturnal vision. Their eyes wide open but unable to see, Simply getting by, their only mission. Taking for granted that the next day will come Just like all the others have been and gone. In truth, that's no guarantee for any man Thankfully, Nature will live on and on. So, take a moment from your hectic lives, To look around and set your sights higher. Take in the wonder of the world around you And let it's beauty set your heart on fire.
