Shadows

She smiles in the sunlight Trying to hide the pain What she wouldn't give To be whole again Laughter cannot cure her The wounds go too deep for that She's tried every method But nothing can erase the fact That inside she's dying Broken, torn apart She's drowning in her tears For she cannot fix her heart The light of tomorrow Is overshadowed by yesterday She cannot forget the past And it will never go away
