She thinks of him Being late home Her husband Jim Its past his time He’s late from work Traffic jam? His cheeky smirk The phone rings His corny jokes It will be him His diet Cokes Yes, hello His morning walk ‘Can I help you?’ His pillow talk ‘Yes, speaking’ His cheery smile Yes he lives here His gentle style ‘The police?’ His dimpled chin ‘I’m his wife’ His naughty grin ‘There’s a problem?’ His easy ways ‘What’s happened?’ His misty gaze ‘The motorway?’ His love so true ‘An accident? His eyes of blue The City Morgue!
