She won't know
A smile plays at the corner of her lips Threatening to burst out Like a ray of sunshine from behind a cloud The good news was good But the bad news is worse She doesn't know yet Remains innocent She hasn't heard Like a white dove Symbolising purity Or hope The sanctimonious girl So good Says her prayers ever night She doesn't know yet What sorrow awaits her Behind every door Around every corner She doesn't know Won't know Until it's too late If she knew would there be that smile At the corner of her lips Would her forehead be smooth No lines of worry or distress She doesn't know of the heart ache The mess Yet to come She won't know Until it's too late.
