Shell
Once, my reflection in the mirror shined as brightly as a star. I’ve slipped further away from myself. Edges beginning to blur. Insignificant lines of my blood that can cause so much dismay. Controlled chaos in a single jolt, lightening dances up my arm. Every time I slice into my skin I lose more of who I am. Smashed bits strung together in a shell is all that is left of me.
