Ships in the night
Relationships sink often And fast In cold deep water Where the fire keeping the vessel warm In the engine bay Is put out abruptly Sometimes the ship doesn’t go down But needs repair Sometimes it capsizes and you both drown Gasping for air That’s why I ride on friendships They’re not as fast and flashy They have a lot of room for passengers And seem to last longer I’d rather turn a friendship into a relationship But it’s going to take more Than a new coat of paint
