Shipwrecked

·Absinthe Friend

Shipwrecked on my sorrow My heart drifts heavy and broken My sinking passion floats no more As I drown on words she’s spoken I breathe my last, and day is night Still blackness fills my senses I drift now lifeless, alone, afraid. Subdued by her defences The stormy weather of love now lost Pounds my weary frame I swim against the surging tide But this act is merely vain I steer myself against the truth Fresh hope my heart does borrow But I crash against the reef of love Shipwrecked on my sorrow
