If upon these words Your beauteous eyes lay rest, Your gaze upon Attempts to be the best. From heart and soul The words and ink doth flow, To cultivate dreams Wherein my hopes must grow. I live and love But leave no mark or sign, Save for these rhymes That try to outlive time. And while some may sink I pray that some amaze, To show my judge That I can turn a phrase. Now from your souls My love is hard to sever, You’ve read my words And I am thine forever.
