Singing Karaoke
I’m singing karaoke Cos I want to be a star, And I’m doing all my training At a drunken bar. The Spotlights on me The Music’s about to begin, Silence people Andrew Gove’s about to sing. Faces turn my way And silence fills the air, Suddenly I'm thinking what the fuck am I doing here? These faces they’re all staring As the words come on the screen, What comes out my mouth Can only be likened to a scream. Please don’t shield your ears As I sing my rhyme, Please be gentle critics This is my first time. Oh hell this aint so bad There’s worse ways to spend my time, But they’re all looking at me Like I’m about to do some crime. I find my voice And sing my heart, I remind myself That my career’s about to start. The song wraps up I finish strong, Walk over to my mates “How’d you like my song?” As one they laugh And call me doff, “You bloody moron, Your mic was off!”
