Slow Me Down
My mind races, I try to think. What to write, make it a masterpiece. You tell me, “just write, write for me,” If only you knew, you’re my inspiration. You take my crazy canvas of a mind, And wipe it clean. Clear my thoughts, and help me see. In my head, Everything looks much better, When I try to put it to paper, It comes out a mess. But I try so hard, To translate my thoughts, so my paper can understand, What I’m trying to say. Make it connect, Just make some sense, But my thoughts race at light speed, They won’t do as I ask, even when I beg and plead. So come here my love, and take my hand. Help my thoughts lie still. Speak from your heart, Spill out your soul, The best way to talk, Is with no sound at all.
